The Trend Station circular fashion show received first prize at the 2025 LivCom Awards (The International Awards for Liveable Communities) in Istanbul. The competition was supported by UN-Habitat and UNESCO.
The jury recognised the value of the Łódź-based project, particularly:
- the original use of public space at Łódź Fabryczna Railway Station
- strong references to the city’s heritage
- addressing the environmental challenges of over-production and over-consumption in fashion
- the involvement of cultural institutions and organisations promoting environmentally responsible fashion
- the promotion of more sustainable lifestyles
- and the project’s strong potential in environmental education
The event combined climate education with culture and fashion in an unprecedented way, becoming an artistic journey from the history of Łódź’s textile industry towards a more sustainable future for contemporary fashion. Designers reminded audiences that while the city once lived to the rhythm of weaving machines, today that rhythm is replaced by the pulse of new ideas. Fashion, they proved, can be both beautiful and conscious—and individual style does not require over-production. In this way, Łódź, once the capital of the textile industry, has become a voice in the global debate on reducing the environmental impact of fashion.
