Tomasz Armada Takes Stock of 2025

“Recent projects form a cohesive narrative — clothing ceases to be merely a decorative product and becomes a tool of presence,” explains the artist.

In his project for ETIQ, the designer transformed an overlooked component, labels — by combining them into structures resembling fabric, texture, and even armour. The resulting silhouettes were created for the runway, yet remained fully functional. “I’m fascinated by the moment when a detail meant to stay unnoticed suddenly becomes the main material,” Armada comments.

For PRM, he developed Masquerade, a project that took the process a step further, creating not only garments but also theatrical wearable objects, masks, and scenographic elements. These pieces activate character and reveal the conventional nature of costume.

Armada also emphasises his commitment to costume design. His most recent work in this field involved creating costumes for Klątwa, directed by Anna Augustynowicz. “It’s something of an alter ego for me—the otherside of my practice: less flamboyant, more disciplined and minimalist. Beyond aesthetics, costume must carry meaning and remain sensitive to the subtle play of light, shadow and texture,” he explains.

Across fashion shows, installations, stage productions and brand collaborations, Armada consistently demonstrates a coherent and powerful artistic vision.
